Food for thought on OS BI, CRM and ERP – that’s the motto of OSS Central. While Open Source Software (OSS) is increasingly popular in the area of system software, their use in the application domain is mainly limited to general applications in the office or webbrowser domain. Although many businesses adopted software systems for transaction processing, business intelligence and customer relationship management, OSS is still little known here. Nevertheless the open source phenomenon may also be observed in the BI, CRM and ERP field with examples such as Pentaho Open BI Suite, SugarCRM and OpenBravo. OSS Central aims to enhance the understanding of this part of the growing OS software industry. In a series of blog posts we will explore this topic from different angles targetting the interested public as well as corporate decision makers.
